BHW 2002
The Second Binational Health Week (BHW) activities took place from October 12-19, 2002 in California, where almost half of the population of Mexican origin resides in the United States, and in seven Mexican states with high international mobility. Twelve1 California counties participated in delivering services and information: Alameda, San Francisco, Fresno, Imperial, Los Angeles, Monterey, Sacramento, San Mateo, Sonoma, Napa, San Diego, Orange, and Ventura. The 7 Mexican states were: Baja California, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacán, Oaxaca, Puebla, and Zacatecas. The BHW was an effort of federal, state, and local entities, public and private, in favor of health and well-being for Mexican immigrants in California and their families in Mexico.
