Tonantzin Rodríguez is a pre-med undergraduate student at the University of California, Berkeley. She is a child of Mexican immigrants and has the intention to pursue an MD/MPH degree. She is currently in her last year at UC Berkeley, completing her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, a research-focused major. Her research interests are based in Public Health, Latine Studies, and sociolinguistics as she plans to research language barriers and the perception of Latine immigrants in the American healthcare system. She is originally from Los Angeles and hopes to work in the city as a physician, working in a predominantly Latine/Spanish-speaking community. She has additional interests in language acquisition as she has been studying Mandarin Chinese for the past 4 years.
